Widespread and abundant, occurring in several protected areas. It often occurs in rocky habitats that are suboptimal for human use, hence it is assessed as Least Concern.

Distribution

Endemic to South Africa where it occurs throughout most of Gauteng, eastern North-West Province, and large parts of Mpumalanga and Limpopo provinces, exclusive of most of the Lowveld and Limpopo Valley (Jacobsen 1989, Bates et al. 2014).
