Has a small range (extent of occurrence (EOO) = 974 kmĀ²),  but there are no major threats, hence it is listed as Least Concern.

Distribution

Endemic to the Western Cape where it occurs in the southern Karoo, north of the Swartberg Mountains to the north of Klaarstroom (Bates et al. 2014), and to the northeast of Prince Albert (K. Tolley upub. data 2018).

There are no known substantial threats to this species.

Uses and trade

Although this species is on CITES Appendix II, there have been no reported exports (UNEP-WCMC 2017), so the species is not considered threatened by trade.

This species is listed in CITES Appendix II; it is not known to occur in any protected areas. Given the potential taxonomic issues, it would be useful to conduct field surveys to better understand the taxonomy and distribution of the species.
