Has a small distribution (extent of occurrence = 1,736 km2) but occurs mainly within the Richtersveld National Park where it is largely protected. There is essentially no habitat alternation over its entire distribution. It is therefore considered Least Concern.

Endemic to the Richtersveld, Northern Cape, South Africa and the adjacent parts of southern Namibia (Bates et al. 2014).

The species is considered stable and not fragmented. There is essentially no habitat alternation within its range.

There are no significant threats.

Not known to be utilized in any way.

Conservation

Occurs in protected areas. Improved survey data for the area could be useful to refine the interpreted distribution and estimate of extent of occurrence.
