Least Concern (LC)

Rationale

Widespread with no major widespread threats identified. In South Africa this species has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 153,971 km² and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 300 km². As it is widespread in its global distribution and there are no major threats, it is not threatened with extinction at present and is assessed as Least Concern nationally.

Distribution

Occurs in the Upper Zambezi River, through the Okavango, Kafue, and Zambian Congo, to the Cunene River on the Atlantic coast.
