A widespread and common subspecies with no major threats hence is assessed as Least Concern.


Distribution

Endemic to the eastern and southern parts of South Africa, Eswatini (Swaziland) and Lesotho (Bates et al. 2014). The records in the Graaff-Reinet area (Bates et al. 2014) are the first records of this species in the northwestern part of the Eastern Cape Province.
